Apopka football fans will have a chance to gather with Blue Darter coaches, players and alumni Thursday as Talkin’ Old School with Roger Franklin Williams brings its radio program to Frogger’s Bar & Grill in Apopka.

The program will broadcast live from 6-9 p.m. Thursday, ahead of Apopka’s home opener against longtime rival Winter Park.

The event is designated as a Spirit Night by Frogger’s, with 20% of proceeds donated to Apopka High School athletics.

The three-hour program will feature interviews with Apopka coach Marcus Neeson, current Blue Darter players and Apopka football alumni.

“We are excited about the opportunity to celebrate the start of another football season with Coach Neeson at Frogger’s,” Williams said. “There is a lot of excitement about the upcoming season and we are looking forward to a big crowd of Blue Darter fans, students and alumni at Frogger’s on Thursday evening.”

The Apopka-Winter Park football rivalry dates back to 1935, adding Friday night’s home opener to another chapter of history.
