New club at Wekiva High

2400

This year, a new statewide club established by Florida First Lady Casey DeSantis was brought to Wekiva High School through a $500 funded grant called Hope Ambassadors. The purpose of the club is to support peer-to-peer mentoring, provide opportunities for community service involvement, and give students the ability to develop their leadership skills within their own communities. Most recently, the group had a surprise guest speaker, the CEO of Volunteer Florida and former NFL Philadelphia Eagles football player Corey Simon, come speak to the students about the power of serving the community. The new club officers elected last week are (l-r), Secretary Amari Cranston, Vice President Faulan Pierre, CEO Corey Simon, President Ay’ Jaylah Blandin, and  Historian Raissa Louis.
