Key Points

The Apopka Development Review Committee is scheduled Wednesday to review plans for a road extension within the Wyld Oaks development, along with a special exception for outdoor storage and revisions to a residential subdivision.

The committee will meet at 9 a.m. at Apopka City Hall.

The Wyld Oaks Road C Extension is before the committee for review of its first construction site plan submittal. The proposal calls for approximately 600 linear feet of access roads along West Kelly Park Road between Effie Drive and State Road 429. Kimley-Horn and Associates is the applicant.

Construction documents identify the project as the Road C Extension for Kelly Park VB Development LLC. Plans include roadway, drainage and utility improvements, including water and reclaimed-water infrastructure. The documents also call for access to surrounding properties and an existing retail building to be maintained during construction.

Wyld Oaks is a planned 215-acre mixed-use development near the State Road 429 and Kelly Park Road interchange in northwest Apopka. Plans for the development include residential and commercial uses, restaurants, a grocery store, an outdoor entertainment venue and green space.

The committee will also consider the third submittal of a special-exception request from Carolina Textiles for outdoor storage and overnight parking at 300 S. Bradshaw Road. Beaufort Design Build is the applicant.

Another item involves an amendment to the previously approved construction site plan for Ridgebrooke Subdivision, also known as Plymouth Harbor. The 86-lot single-family development encompasses approximately 40.55 acres along Plymouth Sorrento Road. The proposed revision would adjust the depth of selected lots and add open space. Plans show 14.88 acres of open space, compared with 8.10 acres required under the city’s Land Development Code.

The DRC agenda also includes four special-event applications: the Pines of Wekiva Holiday Festival on Dec. 5; the Heart & Soul Music Festival at the Apopka Amphitheater on Oct. 10; the Florida Five organized run/walk at Kit Land Nelson Park on Feb. 19, 2027; and the Apopka Police Halloween Highway trick-or-treat drive-through on Oct. 28.
