Wekiva High School Flag Ceremony
Time: 7:30 a.m.
Location: Wekiva High School flagpole (2501 Hiawassee Road, Apopka)
Wekiva High School’s Air Force Junior ROTC will present the colors and conduct a 13-fold flag ceremony early Friday morning, honoring Orange County Public Schools Superintendent Maria Vazquez for her years of service before her retirement. Members of the school band will also play the national anthem.
City of Apopka 9/11 Memorial Service
Time: 8:30 a.m.
Location: Apopka City Hall (120 E. Main St., Apopka)
Join the Apopka Fire and Police Departments at the flagpole as the flag is lowered to half-staff.
Remembrance 9/11 Tribute 25th Anniversary Exhibit
Time: 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
Location: Winter Garden City Hall (300 W. Plant St., Winter Garden)
View artifacts, video footage, and personal accounts of 9/11 at City Hall. The exhibit runs from Wednesday, Sept. 9, through Saturday, Sept. 12.
9/11 Memorial Blood Drive
Time: 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
Location: Select Seacoast Bank branches (visit oneblood.io/seacoast to view a list)
Those donating blood at select Seacoast Bank locations will receive a limited-edition 9/11 T-shirt, a $20 electronic gift card and a wellness checkup.
9/11 Remembrance Ceremony

Location: Orlando VA Medical Center, first floor (13800 Veterans Way, Orlando)
Honor those who sacrificed their lives in 2001 with the Orlando VA Healthcare System. U.S. Marine Corps veteran and former New York City Police Department officer Steve Dailey will join as the keynote speaker.
9/11 Remembrance and Candlelight Ceremony
