The IHOP restaurant on U.S. Highway 441 in Apopka is expected to temporarily close beginning Oct. 4 for renovations, an employee at the restaurant confirmed Friday.
The employee, who answered a phone call to the restaurant at 1120 W. Orange Blossom Trail, said the location will close temporarily for renovation work but did not know when it is expected to reopen. The employee did not provide additional details about the project.
The Apopka IHOP opened in July 2019 and has become a popular dining destination in the area. As of Sept. 25, the restaurant had received 5,230 Google reviews with an average rating of 4.8 stars.
IHOP, short for International House of Pancakes, is a national restaurant chain headquartered in California that operates hundreds of franchised and company-owned locations across the United States and internationally.
The planned work comes months after another Apopka chain restaurant, Checkers on East Main Street, unveiled a remodel that included a new logo, murals and updated lighting.
The Apopka Chief contacted IHOP’s corporate media relations department seeking details about the renovations and an anticipated reopening timeline, but the company did not immediately respond to the request for comment.
