The Apopka Development Review Committee will review plans for the first phase of apartments at Floridian Town Center and a 78-lot plat at Crossroads at Kelly Park when it meets Wednesday.
The two development applications and three special event requests make up the committee’s scheduled business, according to the city’s meeting agenda.
The Floridian Town Center application is a major development plan for the project’s first multifamily phase along Southfork Drive. The submitted plans show apartment buildings, a clubhouse, a pool and garages. Floridian Apopka Phase 1 Owner LLC is listed as the property owner, with McIntosh Associates, an LJA company, as the applicant.
The apartment proposal is separate from the Floridian Town Center hotel plan that the City Commission advanced on first reading Sept. 2. Commissioners also advanced a related Fudge Road annexation that day. Both items are scheduled for second readings Sept. 16, the same day the DRC will review the apartment plan.
The committee will also consider a final plat application for Crossroads at Kelly Park Phase 2A-2. The plat would establish 78 lots along Soapberry Avenue. Jen Florida 51 LLC is listed as the owner, and Genevieve LaBuda of Pape-Dawson is the applicant. A plat identifies the lots and other features of a subdivision; its review is distinct from approval to build homes.
Three special event requests round out the agenda: Harvest Haunt, a festival proposed for Oct. 16-18 at Edwards Field on East First Street; Walk 4 Life, a walk and run planned for Oct. 17 beginning at First Baptist Church on South Highland Avenue; and 12Ks of Christmas, a run and walk proposed for Dec. 19 at the Northwest Recreation Complex.
The DRC reviews development plans and special event applications with representatives from city departments, including planning, public works, fire and police. Items may return for further review if applicants must address staff comments.
The meeting is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Sept. 16 in the Commission Chambers at Apopka City Hall, 120 E. Main St.
