The Performer’s Den owner, Paula Dale, (pictured above), is also an acting coach and instructor.

If you’ve ever wanted to try your hand at acting or just have some fun trying something new, this New Year is the perfect time to make it happen as Apopka welcomes acting instructor Paula Dale and The Performer’s Den!

Paula Dale, The Performer’s Den owner, is an acting coach and instructor who has been on stage, appeared in commercials, hosted O Town TV’s City Guide, traveled the country as spokesperson for various companies, performed Improv for Busch Gardens, was a member of the Miami Heat Xtreme Team, and was selected while in college to perform for the Opening Crew of the then Disney MGM Studios.

“Orlando is a fantastic place for someone to get started in acting and actually work in the industry, if they like. There is tremendous opportunity for all ages and all types of backgrounds. It’s a great place to live and get into the entertainment industry,” Paula states.

There are acting opportunities at Universal Studios, Walt Disney World and Busch Gardens, as well as the local commercial and trade show work. The Performer’s Den is excited to inspire new actors and artists and to also work with those just looking to brush up on their skills, auditioning techniques, and have some fun with scene work.

Paula also coaches realtors and professionals with their marketing videos and presentations. Videos are such a big tool for professionals; Paula can help take yours to the next level.

Paula is from Louisiana, where she taught modeling. She relocated to Orlando in 1995 and has been performing and acting ever since. Paula now calls Apopka home and loves working with students, whether experienced or the novice.

Prior to moving to Apopka, she taught at Art Stage Performing Arts Studio in Jupiter, Florida. Paula also coached students auditioning for admission to the competitive Bak Middle School of the Performing Arts and Dreyfoos High School of the Arts. In addition, she worked with high school seniors auditioning for the Theatre Program at various colleges.

Enroll now for The Performer’s Den weekly classes to be held in the beautiful Lotus Yoga Studio at 465 Oakland Avenue in Apopka. There are classes for middle school kids and teens, as well as a separate adult class. No experience is necessary. The classes are a great way to gain confidence, which helps in school, work, and just every day life. The camaraderie that develops in these types of classes can bring friendship, laughter, and a great support group.

Paula has always been a cheerleader to those around her and those she works with. It’s her gentle, non-judgmental support, high energy and encouragement, combined with her lighthearted sense of humor that helps each student become their best. The classes are a safe place to explore, be creative, be silly, try new things, and just escape. “My love for the Arts, the Theatre, creativity, artists, and the whole process that goes into putting on a live performance brings me joy and I look forward to bringing that joy to the students,” says Paula.

Paula looks forward to The Performer’s Den presenting its own plays, musical performances, and showcases. Classes will include improv, auditioning techniques, spokesperson work, monologues, scene work, head shots and resumes, informal modeling, and end of class performances. She will also discuss how to get in the business and get an agent.

If you’ve ever wanted to give acting a try, no matter what your age, it’s never too late to get started!
