Participants to ride bikes around Lake Apopka in seventh annual FOLA 40

The seventh annual FOLA 40 bike ride will take place on Sunday, March 24, starting at 8:30 a.m. at Lake Apopka. Participants can choose from 8, 16, 32, or 40-mile rides.

The 40-mile ride will begin in downtown historic Winter Garden at the city pavilion, 104 S. Lakeview Ave., Winter Garden. This includes six miles of road riding as well as 17.5 miles of non-paved, gravel trails.

All other distances will start at Magnolia Park, 2929 S. Binion Road, Apopka, and are on non-paved, gravel trails.

A hybrid, mountain or cyclocross-style bike is strongly recommended for all distances.

All ride distances start at 8:30 a.m. Rest stops are located approximately every eight miles.

Proceeds benefit Friends of Lake Apopka (FOLA), a 501(c)3 dedicated to continuing the restoration of Lake Apopka, Florida’s fourth largest lake.
