Key Points
- Orange County requires residents to water lawns once a week starting Nov. 1, 2026, until March 14, 2027, based on odd or even addresses.
- Watering is allowed only on specified days: odd addresses on Saturday, even addresses on Sunday, and nonresidential addresses on Tuesday.
- Watering must occur outside 10 a.m.–4 p.m. and last no more than one hour per zone. Violators face fines.
In a Monday news release, Orange County reminded residents to reset their irrigation timers for once-a-week watering beginning Nov. 1.
This schedule will remain in effect until daylight saving time returns March 14, 2027. The time change corresponds with mandatory lawn and landscape irrigation restrictions that specify the watering days based on odd- or even-numbered addresses:
- Homes with odd-numbered or no addresses: Saturday
- Homes with even-numbered addresses: Sunday
- Nonresidential properties: Tuesday
Additional restrictions include:
- Water only if necessary and not between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
- Water for no more than one hour per zone.
- Restrictions apply to private wells and pumps, ground or surface water and water from public and private utilities.
- Some exceptions apply.
Repeat violators will be subject to a fine per violation.
