North Thompson Road reopened Wednesday afternoon after a month-lone closure for work related to Orange County Utilities’ Wekiwa Springs Septic-to-Sewer Project.
Orange County Utilities spokesperson Jamie Floer confirmed the reopening Wednesday in an email to The Apopka Chief.
The road had been closed beginning Aug. 24 between Reagans Reserve Boulevard and Yvonne Street, including the Thompson Road intersection at Sandpiper Street.
The closure was part of Phase 4 of Orange County’s multiyear effort to convert homes in the Wekiwa Springs area from septic systems to the county’s central sewer system. Phase 4 includes the Rolling Oaks, Carlton Woods and Carlton Oaks neighborhoods.
