Construction on a new entrance to the back side of Rock Springs Ridge will begin later this year as the city is seeking bids to build an 820-linear foot road from Jason Dwelley Parkway to Rolling Hills Lane in the southwest area of the Rock Springs Ridge housing development.

Known as the Brush Drive roadway extension, the road will traverse from the parking lot on the south side of the tennis courts at the Northwest Recreation Complex northeast to a street stub out located along Rolling Hills Lane.

Plans call for the street to be a two-lane divided road that will have stop signs along Brush Drive as it crosses Jason Dwelley Parkway.

The new road will have a sidewalk and a pedestrian/bicycle trail, according to the city’s bid documents. Bids will be opened on April 20 at City Hall. After that, the project must go before the City Council and construction will begin following that. The city has budgeted $400,000 for the project.

The bid documents call for a construction timeframe of 180 days.
