The Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive will be closed to motor vehicles from Friday through Monday because of heavy rainfall and saturated road conditions, according to the St. Johns River Water Management District.
The district said vehicle traffic could damage the wet roads, which have recently undergone improvements.
The Lake Apopka Loop Trail and pedestrian access gates will remain open to bicyclists and pedestrians.
The Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive is located on the Lake Apopka North Shore, with the entrance at 2850 Lust Road in Apopka. The 11-mile route is normally open to motor vehicles from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and federal holidays, including Columbus Day. Vehicles must leave the property by 5 p.m.
