In remembrance of the two-year anniversary of the day that Apopka firefighter Austin Duran was injured, the Duran family and The 2650 Foundation is inviting the community to join in the third annual community vigil.

The community vigil in Duran’s memory will take place on Sunday, June 30, 10-11 a.m. at Apopka Fire Station No. 1, 176 East Fifth St., Apopka.

This year’s vigil will be at the memorial site that was built by the hands of his brother and sister firefighters, family, loved ones, and many citizens who were touched by his story and life.

Everyone will meet at 10 a.m. for a moment to reflect on Austin Duran’s legacy and the impact his life continues to have thanks to his family and friends.

Following this year’s vigil, as was done since the beginning, all will gather at Three Odd Guys Brewing, 48 E. Fifth St., Apopka, for fellowship, food, and brews.
