Driver reported missing was killed in Apopka vehicle crash

A driver who was reported missing and operating a stolen vehicle at the time of a vehicle crash in Apopka died from sustained injuries.

At 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday, April 24, the Apopka Police Department responded to a single vehicle crash in the vicinity of Kelly Park Road and Chandler Road.

The driver, a 17-year-old, was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was airlifted to a local trauma center. The driver succumbed to their injuries.

Upon the police’s preliminary investigation, it was determined that the deceased had been reported as a missing person and was operating a stolen vehicle at the time of the crash.
