Malika Vekeysia Stevenson, Apopka, passed away on December 20. She was born on November 4, 1975, in Detroit, Michigan. Mrs. Stevenson is preceded in death by father Artwell Matthews Jr. Survivors: husband Christian M. Stevenson; children Christian D. Stevenson and Morgan C. Stevenson; mother Candace Sturdivant (Gregory); siblings Artwell Bernard Matthews and Damien Matthews; in-laws Don Stevenson, Suzanne Kidd and Dorothy Jenkins; sister in-law Victoria Giles (Willie).

 

Shane Chavis, 50, of Sorrento, Florida passed away on December 26. He was born on February 2, 1972 in Deland, Florida. Survivors: wife Tracy Chavis; children Hunter (Fatima) Chavis and Jordan Chavis; parents Joseph and Ethel Chavis; sister Sheena (Michael) Gardner; as well as his dog and best friend Cam.

DR. WALTER ALBERT BLACK, 79, Eustis, died Saturday, December 10, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Ill.  He was born in Farmington, Ill. Survivors: wife, Carolyn Mae; children, Cecelia (Wayne) Clark, Winter Park, Robert (June) Black, Apopka, Dr. Ronald (Kelli) Black Honolulu, Hawaii; sister, Rose Mary Melbourne, Kewanee, Ill.; brother, James Robert Black, Farmington, Ill.

Nevaeh Renee Isham-Brown, 12, of Apopka, Florida passed away on December 16, 2022.  Ms. Isham-Brown was born on February 21, 2010 in Camden, New Jersey. She is survived by her loving parents Jackie Rivera and Coco Vazquez Matos; siblings Joey Vasquez, Beba Vasquez, Carlos Robles and Jordan Isham-Brown; as well as her cherished tio, titi’s, cousins and several extended family members.

Carolyn J. Davis, 86, of Zellwood, Florida passed away on December 14, 2022.  Mrs. Davis was born on November 15, 1936 in Ludowici, Georgia. Mrs. Davis is preceded in death by her loving husband; as well as two brothers. She is survived by her children Jeff “Regina” Davis, Tina “Roger” Jones and Ron Davis; two brothers Clinton “Corrie” Johnson and Randy “Peggy” Johnson; four grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.

LISA CALHOUN, 56, Apopka, died Tuesday, December 13. She was born in Orlando. Survivor: mother, Patricia Posey. Loomis Family Funeral Home, Apopka.

WILLIAM DAVID WAITS, 66, died Friday, December 16. He was born in Orlando. Survivors: children, Angela Shaw, Juli Hobby, Micah; grandchildren, Jacob, Parker, Emma, Thomas, Matthew, Amber, Jordan, Amelia, Rowan. Loomis Family Funeral Home, Apopka.

Joseph Howard Myers Jr., 66, a long time Apopka resident passed away on December 14, 2022. He was born on March 31, 1956 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Joseph and Anna Marie Myers. He is preceded in death by his brother-in-law James Johnston and his nephew Christopher Johnston. Mr. Myers is survived his siblings Nanci Johnston, Kathleen McCall (Francis), and Mary Brown (Roger); 6 nieces and nephews, as well as 5 great nieces and nephews.
