Above-ground construction has begun on a 325-unit apartment community at Wyld Oaks, the 215-acre mixed-use development near State Road 429 and West Kelly Park Road in Apopka, according to an Oct. 15 news release.

Exchange at Wyld Oaks is being developed by Dewfall Hathaway, an affiliate of Atlanta-based Hathaway Development, with equity backing from Carlyle Realty Partners X.

The apartments are the first multifamily development at Wyld Oaks to reach this stage of construction, according to the release. The announcement did not provide an opening date or rental rates.

Plans include one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments averaging 741, 1,081 and 1,307 square feet, respectively. The community will be next to the planned Yonder park and near a future town center.

“Rooftops bring customers, patients, guests and diners,” Wyld Oaks founder Joseph Beninati said in the release.

Wyld Oaks said completed infrastructure includes roads, sidewalks, landscaping, streetlights, utilities and underground conduit for its fiber internet network.

The broader development includes plans for more than 300,000 square feet of retail space, along with dining, hotels, medical offices and additional housing.

Wyld Oaks announced Hathaway’s involvement in June, describing plans to place apartments within walking distance of businesses, health services, recreation and public gathering spaces. In July, the development named Taylor Edwards its chief operating officer.

The development’s current online plan identifies a future AdventHealth emergency department and medical campus. The plan labels the Wyld Market site “Sale Pending” and shows proposed restaurant sites, hotel space and additional commercial and residential opportunities.

Planned outdoor features include trails through Yonder, open green space, a dog park and an entertainment venue called Wyld Green.

The website states that plans and amenities are subject to change and that described community improvements are not guaranteed to be completed.
