The city of Apopka Economic Development Department is announcing the launch of its Business Retention and Expansion (BRE) Program, designed to support and enhance the growth of local businesses while fostering a thriving economic environment for the community. This initiative aims to strengthen relationships with local businesses, identify their needs, and provide resources to help them succeed.
The BRE Program will include regular engagement with business owners, workshops, and access to technical assistance and funding opportunities. By focusing on the needs of existing businesses, the city aims to create a more vibrant local economy and improve the overall quality of life for residents.
“Supporting our local businesses is essential to maintaining Apopka’s unique character and economic vitality,” said Mayor Bryan Nelson. “This program not only strengthens our existing businesses but also ensures that Apopka remains an attractive destination for new enterprises. Together, we can create a more resilient economy that benefits everyone in our community.”
Economic Development Director Michelle Boylan emphasized the program’s strategic importance.
“The BRE Program is a proactive approach to economic development. By investing in our local businesses, we are investing in our community’s future. The department is dedicated to understanding the challenges that businesses face and providing the necessary support to help them thrive,” Boylan said.
The Economic Development Department invites all local business owners to participate in the program by completing the brief, confidential survey located on the city website. A link to the survey can be found at Apopka.gov/ExpandingABusiness.
