Apopka will honor fallen military heroes with Memorial Day service

The city of Apopka and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10147 is inviting the public to join them in honoring the lives and legacy of the nation’s fallen military heroes on Monday, May 28, 2018, in observance of Memorial Day.

Admission is free.

The Memorial Day service will begin promptly at 11 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial located at the Edgewood/Greenwood Cemetery, 141 S. Edgewood Drive, Apopka.

The ceremony will feature many speakers including Apopka Mayor Bryan Nelson, local veterans and religious leaders. At the conclusion of the service, patrons will be invited to place memorial flags at gravesite located throughout the cemetery.

Following the ceremony, refreshments will be served at VFW Post 10147, 519 S. Central Ave., Apopka.

In case of inclement weather, the service will take place at VFW Post 10147.
