Organized by the Rotary Club of Apopka Foundation, Inc. and supported by the city of Apopka, the Apopka Fair has taken its place among the institutions of Apopka.

Scheduled for Thursday through Sunday, March 7-10 at Kit Land Nelson Park, the institution continues to bring appeal and spotlight to Apopka with the 2024 edition.

Before the fair kicks off on Thursday, March 7, carnival ride operator Paradise Amusement is offering a sneak peek this weekend in which rides will be available for people to enjoy Friday through Sunday, March 1-3. Paradise Amusements will run the fair’s midway, which will consist of about 50 combined rides and games.

Proceeds raised from the fair directly benefit the Apopka Rotary Club and Apopka Rotary Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization supporting over 40 local and international charities. Youth-oriented clubs are included.

The fair was originally organized as a part of the 150th anniversary celebration for Apopka as a city. However, during the 23 years of operation, the fair has matured within the context of the area’s uniqueness while also presenting the theme of family first.

Admission into the fair is free. However, parking is $5 for an entire day. Except service, animals are not allowed on the property.

Sponsorships are still being sought for the Apopka Fair.

Sponsoring companies are The Apopka Chief/The Planter, Lake Apopka Natural Gas District, Waste Management, Primerica, DB DeClue Brothers Insurance Solutions, Williams Construction and Management, First United Methodist Church of Apopka, Stephie’s Pub and Irish Eatery, First Card Merchant Services, and Belben Realty Group.

Rotarian Lowell Swanberg’s Classic Car Show
The sounds, smells and shining chrome of automobiles will also return as a further expression of the fair’s purpose. Held as a part of every Apopka Fair, the 23rd annual Rotarian Lowell Swanberg’s Classic Car Show at the Apopka Fair (presented by the Rotary Club of Apopka) will take place on Saturday, March 9.

Anniversary Antique, Classic and Special Interest automobiles will be on display as well as featured.

Over 125 automobiles participated in the 2023 show.

Awards have grown to roughly double the amount presented at the end of the first show. People’s Choice Awards, Chairman’s Choice, President’s Choice and the Rotarian Lowell Swanberg Awards have become staples of the show.

Another anticipated staple of the show is a live DJ. Dash plaques to the first 100 cars registered, a 50/50 drawing and neat door prizes will be included again.
