Where the community can best see procession for Apopka firefighter Austin Duran

The Apopka Fire Department has released a map showing the easiest and safest areas in the city for the community to see the Saturday, July 23, procession for firefighter Austin Duran. The map also depicts the estimated times that the procession will go through the labelled areas. 

The community can watch the procession when it starts around 11:15 a.m. and ends around noontime at three locations: the Apopka Land Shopping Center, 701 S. Orange Blossom Trail; Sam’s Club, 1500 S. Orange Blossom Trail; and Walmart Supercenter, 1700 S. Orange Blossom Trail.

The public can also view the procession beginning around 1:15 pm. and ending at 2:15 p.m. at two locations: Piedmont Plaza, on the southeast corner of E. Semoran Boulevard and Piedmont Wekiwa Road; and Hunt Club Chick-fil-a, 3050 E. Semoran Blvd. 

Private funeral arrangements are for Austin Duran, the Apopka firefighter who died in the line of duty on Friday, July 15, weeks after sustaining injuries from a workplace accident. 

There will be a private viewing for family and Apopka Fire Department personnel at Loomis Funeral Home on Main Street in Apopka, followed by a procession to Journey Christian Church on South Orange Blossom Trail for the memorial service. The service is for family, Apopka Fire Department personnel, and outside fire department personnel.
