Crews are scheduled to close northbound S.R. 429 (Daniel Webster Western Beltway) from S.R. 414 (John Land Apopka Expressway) to near U.S. 441 the nights of Sunday, August 28, and Monday, August 29. The closures are needed to install an overhead dynamic message sign and related work as part of the Wekiva Parkway construction (S.R. 429).

The S.R. 429 northbound closures are scheduled from 10 p.m. on Sunday, August 28 to 6 a.m. on Monday, August 29, and from 9 p.m. on Monday, August 29 to 6 a.m. on Tuesday, August 30.

Prior to the closure, S.R. 429 northbound traffic will be detoured onto S.R. 414 and then onto S.R. 451 to get to U.S. 441. This operation will include closing first one, and then a second S.R. 429 northbound lane heading toward S.R. 414. The SR 429 northbound lane closures south of S.R. 414 will begin at 9 p.m. on Sunday and 8 p.m. on Monday.

The S.R. 414 westbound exit to S.R. 429 northbound also will be closed during the above dates and times.

Safety devices and electronic message boards will be posted to alert drivers. Bad weather or other unforeseen circumstances could delay or prolong work. Motorists are urged to use caution in the construction area for their safety and that of the work crews.

This work is part of the Central Florida Expressway Authority’s $56 million project to build the Wekiva Parkway from where the S.R. 429 currently ends at the Connector Road to just north of Ponkan Road. This project is among five parkway sections being built by CFX, totaling 10 miles and more than $270 million in construction costs. Once completed, the 25-mile parkway will complete Central Florida’s beltway, while helping to protect the natural resources surrounding the Wekiva River.
