Locals can ‘walk with ease’ in walking program at three Apopka locations

Starting September 19, community members can “walk with ease” at three different Apopka-area locations by getting involved in the Arthritis Foundation Walk with Ease program, which can help participants reduce their pain and improve their overall health.

This is a free six-week class that includes a free t-shirt and free snacks. Classes are one-hour each, three times per week.

The Arthritis Foundation-certified, doctor-recommended Walk with Ease program will be made available to interested locals through the following schedule:

  • Alonzo Williams Park, 515 S. Hawthorne Ave., Apopka, 32703
    • Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 9:30-10:30 a.m.
  • Fran Carlton Center,11 N. Forest Ave., Apopka, 32703
    • Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 5:15-6:15 p.m.
  • 
Northwest Recreation Complex, 3200 Jason Dwelley Parkway, Apopka, 32712
    • Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 9-10 a.m.

Walk with Ease can help people:

  • Get motivated to get in great shape
  • Walk safely and comfortably
  • Improve flexibility, strength and stamina
  • Reduce pain and feel great

According to the Arthritis Foundation, a person that can be on his or her feet for 10 minutes without increased pain can have success with Walk with Ease.
