An alligator suns itself recently while in a canal along the Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive. The 11-mile, one-way drive is free and open to the public each Friday through Sunday and on federal holidays. The entrance gate opens at 7 a.m. and closes at 3 p.m. It is located at 2850 Lust Rd., Apopka. The exit gate on Jones Avenue in Zellwood closes at 5 p.m.
