Over 400 community leaders will gather for prayer and a message from keynote speaker Paul Renner, former speaker of the Florida House of Representatives, at the Apopka Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast next month.
Sponsored by the Apopka Christian Ministerial Alliance (ACMA), the Apopka Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast will take place on May 1 at the Apopka Community Center, 519 S. Central Ave., Apopka. Doors open at 6:30 a.m. for breakfast and the preliminary program. The formal program will begin at 7 a.m. and end at 8:30 a.m.
The Apopka Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast coincides with National Day of Prayer, the first Thursday of every May.
The ACMA will also present the Community Pillar Award to an individual who has been an outstanding example of community service.

In addition to being the speaker of the Florida House of Representatives from 2022 to 2024, Renner is also a U.S. Navy veteran, former prosecutor and business attorney.
As speaker of the Florida House, Renner supervised at least 500 employees, shaped two balanced state budgets totaling $100 billion, appointed committee and subcommittee chairs, and established the agenda for all legislation introduced and approved by the chamber.
Raised in northeast Florida, Renner received his Bachelor of Arts in history at Davidson College in North Carolina, and a Juris Doctorate at the University of Florida, Levin College of Law. Renner calls Palm Coast home with his wife and their two children.
“Paul is committed to reclaiming our institutions from the left and returning our country to its core foundations,” according to a press release from ACMA.
