The city will host a public input session this coming Monday about an Ocoee-Apopka Road project that will focus on widening a portion of the road.

The public input session will take place on Monday, December 9, 5:30-7 p.m. at the Fran Carlton Center, 11 N. Forest Ave., Apopka.

From the city website:

Please join us for an informative and public input session covering the northern section of Ocoee-Apopka Road Safety Widening Project (OASWP). The OASWP proposes the widening of Ocoee-Apopka Road (CR) 437A from two to four lanes, beginning at Harmon Road to Hawthorne Avenue, increasing safety and capacity for current and future users. This is a “Complete Streets” project that will include enhancements to existing corridor drainage, as well as, roadway and multi-modal improvements. The City of Apopka is committed to transforming this vital corridor using a Complete Streets approach to modernize the existing infrastructure assets.
Lighting, signage, drainage systems, median islands, traffic signals, a shared-use path and sidewalks will all be improved, added (if lacking) and modernized to ensure all users feel safe and are safe using the improved corridor.
