The city of Apopka is collaborating with several partners to implement a measles vaccination initiative in the Apopka area, where vaccination events will take place this week and the next.

With a focus on making the community aware of this issue and assist in the prevention of the spread of Measles in the community, the city has partnered with the Florida Department of Health in Orange County, Orange County Public Schools, Farmworker Association of Florida, Hope CommUnity Center, and the Apopka Fire Department to provide vaccinations.

The city of Apopka kicked off the initiative with a press conference on Monday, March 4, at the Farmworker Association of Florida Apopka office, followed by measles vaccination events at the Farmworker Association of Florida and both Hope CommUnity Center campuses:

  • Measles vaccinations at Farmworker Association of Florida: Tuesday and Friday, March 5 and March 8, 2-7 p.m. at the Farmworker Association of Florida (1264 Apopka Blvd., Apopka)
  • Measles vaccinations at Hope CommUnity Center South: Monday and Tuesday, March 11 and March 12, 2-7 p.m. at Hope CommUnity Center South, 800 S. Hawthorne Ave., Apopka.
