Apopka police searching for armed bank robbery suspect

The pictured bank robbery suspect at Fifth Third Bank (1725 S. Orange Blossom Trail, Apopka) on Monday, May 20, is a light skinned male, last seen wearing a camo-style bucket hat, a navy-blue long-sleeved shirt, grey joggers, grey sneakers, black and red gloves and is armed with a handgun. He was last seen leaving the parking lot on a bicycle.

Apopka police are searching for a suspect who committed an armed robbery at Fifth Third Bank at 1725 S. Orange Blossom Trail on Monday, May 20, the second bank robbery that happened this month in the city.

On May 20 at approximately 12:15 p.m. Apopka police responded to an armed bank robbery.

According to police, the suspect entered the bank and proceeded to the teller counter and demanded the employee open the cash drawer. The suspect fled the scene on a bicycle. There were no injuries reported as result of this incident. This remains an active investigation.

On May 8, police also responded to a Fifth Third Bank robbery at 1459 Rock Springs Road. According to authorities, the suspect entered the bank, walked behind the teller counter, and removed money from an open drawer before fleeing the scene on foot, according to police. There were no injuries resulting from this incident.

This robbery also continues to be an active investigation, and police are still looking for the suspect.
