Apopka police arrest man for bank robberies following his confession

Police arrested and charged a man with committing the two Fifth Third Bank robberies in Apopka this month after he confessed during police interrogation.

Taylor Cale Mizelle, 45, was booked into the Orange County Jail.

Detectives from the Apopka Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division developed a lead regarding a possible vehicle used in the robbery at the Fifth Third Bank, located at 1725 S. Orange Blossom Trail, on May 20. Through their investigative efforts, they identified a suspect, according to an Apopka Police Department statement.

A search warrant for Mizelle’s residence was obtained and served on the suspect’s residence on Friday, May 24.

During an interview, Mizelle confessed to the May 20 Fifth Third Bank robbery as well as the Fifth Third Bank robbery on May 8, located at 1495 Rock Springs Road, according to the statement.
