Apopka High School was put on hold this morning, Thursday, November 9, until noon due to an unsubstantiated threat made via an anonymous telephone call to the school, according to police.

The Apopka Police Department has significant resources at the school and conducted a thorough investigation related to the unsubstantiated threat. The hold was lifted at noon, and the school resumed as normal.

The Apopka Police Department will have additional resources assigned to the school for the remainder of the school day.

According to the Orange County Public Schools website, a hold means that students and adults remain in rooms and other areas and do business as usual until the “All Clear” is announced. Adults are advised to close and lock doors, and account for students and other adults.
