An 18-year-old Apopka man died following a car collision into a utility pole on Rock Springs Road, Florida Highway Patrol reports.
On Monday, November 18, at approximately 10.21 p.m., the man was driving a 2014 Infiniti Q50 southbound on Rock Springs Road south of Ponkan Road in the inside lane. For unknown reasons, he failed to maintain his lane, according to an FHP news release.
The driver over-corrected right and began to travel clockwise in a southwesterly direction across the southbound travel lanes and onto the sidewalk. As a result, the left side of the Infiniti collided with a utility pole. This impact caused the Inifiniti to go back into the travel lanes.
The driver was transported to AdventHealth Apopka and pronounced decreased. His next of kin was notified.
This crash remains under investigation.Â
