VIRGINIA A. MCFALL, 77, Apopka, passed away on Monday, September 26. She was born on July 23, 1945, in Jacksonville. Her parents moved to Miami while she was a toddler, and she attended Miami Senior High School and graduated from the University of Miami. Survivors are: husband Richard; children: Laurie Blackmon, Apopka, son Kevin A. McFall (Sandy), Orlando; and two granddaughters.

ANN BASS CAPLEY, 83, Apopka, died Saturday, October 15. She graduated from Apopka High School and attended Orlando Junior College and Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville, TN. Mrs. Capley worked many years at Plymouth Citrus Products. Survivors are sister, Glenda, Altamonte Springs; many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by husband, Allen, and brothers Elliott, Jr., Bob, Harry, Graham and Joe.

ROBERT EARL SANDERS, 93, Apopka, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 23. He worked in the construction industry and built many churches throughout Central Florida, including his home church, the original Lockhart Baptist. Survivors are his wife, Merle; children Bobby (Jessica) and Debbie (Brian); nine grandchildren.

KENNETH R. GILLIAM, 80, went to his Heavenly home on October 14.  Mr. Gilliam was born on February 23, 1942, to the late Leroy F. Gilliam and Doris M. Carroll Gilliam. With a servant’s heart, and at an early age, he began his life-long devotion to emergency services, following in the footsteps of his father, Chief Leroy Gilliam, and his grandfather, Orange County Chief of Forestry, Joseph Carroll. Ken is survived by wife, M. Alison Starling Gilliam, his children, Jamie Michele Byrd (Vince) Eidson, TN; Arlie R. Gilliam (Diane) Clarcona, Fl; M. Janel Burns (Alan) of the home; K. Justin Gilliam (Jillian) North Augusta, SC; Joseph Brent Gilliam (Holly B.) Miami, Fl; seventeen grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Bonnie Bray; brother-in-law John Starling (Tena), sister- in-law Nancy Foster (Joe); sister-in-law Adrienne Moore; mother-in-law Althea Starling; foster brothers Doug Ryan (Jane) and A.C. Clark (Darlene). and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Leroy F. Gilliam, Doris M. C Gilliam, brother William D. Bray and foster sister, Carole Clark.

Davis Eugene Norris, 76, of Apopka, Florida passed away on September 23, 2022.  Mr. Norris was born on July 25, 1946 to the late Joe and Vergie Norris in Gastonia, North Carolina. Mr. Norris is preceded in death by his daughter Janet Hamre. He is survived by his children Stacy (Bob) Berglund and Jennifer (Chad) Rouch; grandchildren Justin Paul, Addison Paul and Lane Rouch; great grandson Aaron Paul; as well as his siblings Becky Norris and Joe Norris Jr. He will be missed by his many loved ones and friends.

Mrs. Evangelina Sowders, 55, of Apopka, Florida passed away on October 10, 2022. Mrs. Sowders was born on January 11, 1967 in El Condado, Puerto Rico. Mrs. Sowders is survived by  her children Rachel Sowders, Jonathan Sowders, mother Evangelina Rivera, sister Marisol Rivera and brother Edwin Rivera. Followed by her grandchildren Joseph Marchman, Nathan Marchman, Nevaeh Molina, Estrella Sowders and Issabella Sowders. She will be missed by her many loved ones and friends.

MARIA LIDIA JOAQUIM, 89, Apopka, passed away on Friday, September 23. She was born July 24, 1933 in Vale Florido, Portugal. Survivors are: children Linda (Joseph Pereira) Sheldon, and Denise (Steven) Vantassell; sister Celeste Pena; two grandchildren; six great grandchildren; as well as her beloved chihuahua Leia. She was predeceased by husband Jerome Joaquim.
