GERALD DAY RICHARDSON SR., 75, Apopka, died Tuesday, December 7. Mr. Richardson was born in Orlando. He graduated from Apopka High School and joined the U.S. Air Force, serving in Okinawa. He later attended mortuary school and worked for several funeral homes in Central Florida, including Hoequist Bray Funeral Home, Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home, Loomis Family Funeral Home, Collison Funeral Home, and Baldwin-Brothers Funeral Home. Mr. Richardson was a member of the Apopka Rotary Club where he was a Paul Harris Fellow, Apopka Elks Lodge #2422, life member of VFW Post 10147, life member of Apopka Historical Society and Museum of Apopka. He was a big NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching college and professional football. Survivors: wife, Amanda R; children, Jerry, Apopka, DeAnna McWilliams, Apopka, Jeff, Longwood; children’s mother, Pamela P.; stepdaughter, Shelle Bauer, Ashland, Ohio; brother, Ronald; six grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; one great-grandson; nine step-great-grandchildren.

CATHERINE ELIZABETH BIEHLE/SULLIVAN, 67, died Thursday, November 18, in Zurich, Switzerland. She formerly lived in Apopka, graduating from Apopka Memorial High School in 1972. She lived most of her adult life in Wildegg, Switzerland, as well as Zurich. She was a fifth-generation member of the Oklawaha chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was the manager of Fortune Fabrics Textile Co. of Switzerland, marketing manager for Abraham AG Textile Co., and part owner of Wine Express, Inc. Survivors: parents, Sara Jo, Payson; husband, Erich; son, Patrick William; daughter, Anne Catherine; brothers, Thomas Scott, Samuel Winslow, William Murphy; two grandchildren.

CAROLYN JEAN GATLIN, 79, Apopka, died Saturday, November 20. She was born in Amarillo, Texas. Survivors: daughter, Debra, Apopka; several other extended family members. Highland Funeral Home, Apopka.

LINDA LEE NOPPINGER, 66, Oviedo, formerly of Apopka, died Monday, November 15. She was born in Paterson, New Jersey. Mrs. Noppinger worked as a paralegal for Apopka attorney George C. Kelley for many years. She enjoyed reading, RV camping, and being with family. PATRICIA ANN (CANNING) GRONDIN, 99, Sandusky, Ohio, and a former resident of Zellwood died Sunday, October 31. Mrs. Grondin was born in Sandusky. In Northwest Orange County, she worked for General Electric in Plymouth and Rice’s Nursery in Zellwood. She also worked for the phone company in Ohio and was a master piemaker for Sandusky schools. Mrs. Grondin was a prolific artist and a seamstress.
