MAURICE J. LOSO, 90, LCDR, USN, Ret., Apopka, died Tuesday, July 21. Mr. Loso was born in St. Joseph, MN. He was a naval aviator and retired from the Navy in 1971. He worked for the U.S. Post Office until 1991. He was a past grand knight and faithful navigator in the Knights of Columbus, and charter member and past commander of VFW Post 10147. Survivors: sister, Yvette Warnert, St. Cloud, Minn.; sons, Brian, Frank; three grandsons. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Loomis Family Funeral Home, Apopka.

RONALD E. REDLICH, 78, Apopka, died Wednesday, July 22. Mr. Redlich was born in Denville, New Jersey. He attended the University of Miami. He served in the Army National Guard as captain and company commander in Homestead. He had a real estate career with the ComReal Companies. Survivors: wife, Patty; son, Edward; daughter, Sandi Strickland; sister, Shirley DuPuy. Funeral services will be private.

TERRY LYNN SPARKMAN, 65, Apopka, died Saturday, July 26. Mr. Sparkman was born in Gainesville, Texas. Survivors: wife, Debra; son, Daniel Hitsman; four siblings. Loomis Family Funeral Home, Apopka.

JERVIS N. MENZIES, 84, Apopka, died Tuesday, July 21. Mr. Menzies was born in Manchester, Jamaica. He studied at the Easterly School of Technology and became a certified baker in London, England, where he established his own bakery. He is survived by his spouse; six children; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters. Loomis Family Funeral Home, Apopka.

ABIMAEL “ABI” PIMENTEL MAGANA, 29, Apopka, was born in Guanajuato, Mexico. He was the fifth of six children; Silvia, Omar, Luis, Neri, Jocelyn; uncle to Alex, Xavier, Kevin, Alexis, Noe, Noah, Anisabel. Loomis Family Funeral Home, Apopka.

JEAN STERLING, 91, died Saturday June 6. She was born in Eighty-eighty, Kentucky. She graduated from Vanderbilt Peabody College in Nashville with a Masters in Education and moved to Apopka and moved to Apopka in 1954. She taught at Apopka Elementary, Dream Lake Elementary, Union Park Elementary and Liberty Middle School. She was a member of the First Baptist of Orlando. Survivors: son, Joe Jr., and daughter, Alice; adopted family member, Lois Ann Roberts; four grandchildren.

DORA HIGGINS HANCOCK, 88, Apopka, died Friday, July 16. She prerviously lived in Ocala working in the Medical Field. A Baptist , she was a member of the Dayspring Community Church. WILMA JEAN DEPP STERLING, 91, died Saturday, June 6. Wilma was born in Eighty-Eight, Kentucky. Mrs. Sterling taught at Apopka Elementary, Dream Lake Elementary, Union Park Elementary, and Liberty Middle School. She retired from OCPS in 1991. Survivors: Joseph Jr., Alice, adopted family member, Lois Roberts; four grandchildren.

TERRY L. BATTER, 62, Apopka, died Tuesday, July 7. Mr. Batter grew up in Apopka. Survivors: brother, Eddie; children, Theresa, Melissa, Daniel; four grandchildren.

DORCAS EIDSON SEXTON, 89, Smyrna, Georgia, died Thursday, July 9. She was retired from Georgia state government and moved to Zellwood and joined Trinity Baptist Church of Apopka. Survivors: daughters, Stephanie E. Hood, Anna E. Boggs; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren. Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home & Cemetery, Marietta, Ga.

JOEL CHANDLER, 73, Umatilla, died Saturday, March 28. Mr. Chandler was born in Leesburg. Joel played football for Apopka Memorial High. He served several years in the U.S. Marine Corps. and was buried at the National Cemetery in Bushnell, where a military service was held July 7. Survivor: wife, Gail; son, Eric; stepson, Jason Langston, Lake City; brothers, Billy Joe, Eustis, Donnie, Sorrento, Ricky, Apopka; sisters, Martha Glass, Orlando, Joyce Brejcha, Waller, Texas, Ann Hart, Apopka, Vennesa Smith, Cypress, Texas; four grandchildren.

TOBY DEAN McINTIRE, 64, Apopka, died Sunday, July 5. He was born in Apopka. He worked in the construction industry for more than 35 years after graduating from Apopka High School in 1974. ROSE TOBIAS, 85, Apopka, died Sunday, July 5. She was born in Orlando. She graduated from Apopka High School Class of 1953. Rose opened and operated Toby’s Restaurant in Zellwood for 20 years. ANTHONY MULLINS, 50, Roswell, Georgia, who grew up in Apopka, died Wednesday, July 8. He was born in Sandusky, Ohio.
