JAMES ALLEN GRADY SR., 87, Apopka, died Thursday, August 20. Mr. Grady was born in Barnum, Iowa. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a state certified mechanical contractor in refrigeration and air conditioning. He was also a business owner in the aviation (C.A.P. Flying) industry and instrumental in flying child burn victims to the Shriners Hospital. Survivors: life partner, Peggy Jones; children, Sharon Lynn Miller, James A. CLAUDE A. “SONNY” ETTY JR., 64, Apopka, died Monday, August 24. Sonny was a lifetime resident of Apopka. He was a graduate of Apopka Memorial High School. DIANE SHIRLEY SHAW ANDERSON, 85, Zellwood, died Thursday, August 13. Diane was born in Columbus, Ohio. One of the first members of 4-H, she was awarded the Hall of Fame for Life Time Achievement. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Apopka. Survivors: children, SandyLee Bekemeyer, Clarcona, Brenda Gwinn, Zellwood; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.

GEORGE F. LEWIS, 85, Apopka, died Saturday, August 6. Mr. Lewis was born in Wheeling, West Virginia. He was Catholic and served in the Korean War in the Air Force. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Survivors: son, Stephen “Steve”; granddaughter, Kayli;
grandson Stephen R. Jr.; two great-grandchildren.

JESUS BARRAGAN ZARAGOZA, 32, Apopka, died Tuesday, August 11. Mr. Barragan Zaragoza was born in Guanajuato, Mexico. BARBARA ANNE KAHOUN, 63, Apopka, died Friday, July 31. Barbara was born in Detroit, Michigan. She was a graduate of Apopka High School in 1975 and worked for Sea World for 30 years. RAFAEL SANTINI ARIAS SR., 78, Apopka, died Saturday, August 1. Mr. Santini Arias was born in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. His first wife Carmen Santini, mother of his children, died and he is survived by his present wife, Damaris Mena Gutierrez. Survivors: children, Rafael Santini Jr., Carmen P. DAVID SWANSTON SMITH, 76, Apopka, died Thursday, July 30. Mr. Smith was born Savannah, Georgia. As a young man, he served in the U.S. Army and worked at the Kennedy Space Center. Later, he worked as a supervisor for Continuous Electronic Circuits.
