The Apopka City Council will hold a special meeting today (Tuesday, August 23) at 3:30 p.m. at City Hall. The meeting will be for the council to accept donations of three rights-of-way to allow for the construction of two roundabouts, also called traffic circles, along Marden Road.
One roundabout will be on the north side of State Road 414, while the other will be on the south side. The traffic circles will connect the half-interchange of SR 414 with Marden Road. The half-interchange is being built by MMI Development and will allow traffic traveling west on SR 414 to get off at Marden Road while traffic on Marden Road will be able to get on eastbound SR 414.
The special City Council meeting will be held during a budget workshop scheduled by the council. That workshop is scheduled is scheduled for today (Tuesday, August 23) from 3-7 p.m. at City Hall.
